Preparation and Usage

Simple tips for delicious turkey
Defrost and cook the turkey as per instructions.
Remove from oven and cover with foil to keep it warm.
Let your turkey rest for 30 minutes.
Carve and serve your perfectly succulent turkey.
Allowing your turkey to rest for 30 minutes gives the juices time to come to the surface, making it more flavoursome and easier to carve. It also gives you time to concentrate on the vegetables, entertain your guests or simply put your feet up for a well deserved break.

Please note:
Thaw your turkey in a deep tray in a cool room (17°C) for 8-16 hours. When thawed sufficiently, remove the bag, giblets and neck, and cover the turkey loosely. Retain the weight label on the front of the bag for the specific roasting time.
Thawing times may vary - it may take up to three times longer in a fridge. The above is for guidance only.
To check that your turkey is fully defrosted, there should be no ice crystals in the body cavity and the legs should be flexible.
Once fully defrosted, keep cool.

Storage

KEEP FROZEN AT -18°C.

Cooking Guidelines

General
Please note: All appliances vary, these are guidelines only. Ensure food is fully cooked and juices run clear before serving. Should you lose the guidelines from the front of the bag, roast your turkey for 20 mins per kilo plus an extra 90 mins. We advise (following the FSA guidelines) that stuffing is cooked separately. If you wish to stuff the turkey, cooking times must be adjusted. Please visit our website for further advice.

From Chilled
180°C Fan / 350°F / Gas Mark 4 1. Place the defrosted turkey in a roasting tin and allow to stand at room temperature for an hour before cooking. (Don't forget to remove the giblets and neck.) 2. Preheat oven to the correct temperature as above. 3. Loosely cover the whole bird with foil. 4. Roast for the time specified on the weight label (retained from the front of the bag). 5. Remove foil for the final 1 hour 30 minutes to allow the skin to go golden and crispy. 6. To ensure your turkey is completely cooked, insert a clean skewer into the thickest part of the thigh. When cooked, the juices should run clear; if pinkish, return to the oven and cook for a little longer. 7. Cover and rest the turkey for 30 minutes prior to carving.
